The World Record

Just a Grandfather and Grandson having fun and bonding with Hot Wheels, something that has been a part of Tim's life and millions of others. Watching a video of “

The Longest Hot Wheels Track” on Guinness World Records
Tim looked down at Mason and asked him if he thought they could do that? Mason's reply was “Lets do it!”
That Summer 2021, Northern California where they lived was experiencing the worst forest fires it has possibly ever seen and many families were impacted. Tim saw this even at that time as a way of helping his community. He started getting sponsorship through local businesses not only for the track and supplies, but to give back to Teen Challenge, Lassen Senior Center, Lassen Family Services and directly to some impacted by the loss of their homes.
Tim calls this attempt a successful failure! The weather and conditions did not cooperate but the local turn out and help that everyone put into building the track left an impact on Tim and the community.
Not one to give up on the dream of bringing a World Record to Susanville, Tim decided to attempt the most loop to loops with a Hot Wheels track and once again rallied support from
Local businesses and arraigned to have the loop track built on the New Firetruck Ladder at the “Rails to Trails” event. On Oct 8th 2022
Again the local turn out was amazing and everyone cheered on the car as it passed its 15th loop to break the record!
But......that was not it! Tim was already talking about beating our own record, and with the idea of Hope Wheels to support we thought it would be a great way to introduce our Non profit and create public awareness of our cause.
At the time we did not know that a Father and Son in Grants Pass Oregon had seen our record and had managed to beat us by one loop! They were in waiting for approval by Guinness.
We planned a large event all to ourselves on Sept 2 2023 with the help and sponsorship of T-Mobile Susanville.
They offered us the use of their roof and parking lot and we had a D.J. Filling the air and everyone with energy. We set up our Hot Wheels Track and Cities for free play and had local food vendors and arts and crafts. We had a T.V. contestant from the show Hot Wheels Ultimate Challenge Jerzey Jim Farrell ( Another now Board Member) We also had support from the local racing community and they brought 7 race cars across the street into the parking lot revving their engines and putting smiles on a lot of faces.
We built the track on aluminum staging girders at 38 feet long with 31 loops, e lifted this with a rope to the roof of the T-Mobile building and set our angle as needed. The weather was again not co operating with rain on and off all day making the attempt on a wet track impossible. But we persevered and with a break in the clouds and rain for about 10 minutes we proceeded to drop cars like crazy !
The crowd had us going strong and we finally passed our previous mark of 19, but the crowd yelled for more so we kept it up until we successfully were able to get 28 loops until the rain came back in full force and shut us down.
Again we were not aware of our previous record being broken, but it was about this time when we looked at the Guinness website and found out they had just been approved for 20 loops ! We were very relieved to know that we had just put this record much farther out of reach with 28, and we received our certificate for our 2cnd Guinness World Record.
We have talked more about another record, but it takes a lot of planning and work, and unless we can find a way to make it profitable to the Hope Wheels cause to be able to help more children, we feel our work is better spent making smiles and laughter where we can . The Records are something Tim, Mason and Glen will cherish forever and the memories are priceless. We would not have created Hope Wheels without this whole story coming together like it did.
We hope to have your support and please check with us about upcoming events because we plan on including our community with fun family activities that also supports a great cause.
-Thank you from the Hope Wheels Team
